Mass Tort Claims

Deepwater Horizon (BP) Oil Spill 1,000 Claims Resolved -$250 Million

On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill occurred, resulting in one of the most devastating natural disasters, dumping 200 million gallons of crude oil over 87 days into the Gulf of Mexico. The oil spill significantly impacted 1,600 miles of coastline from Texas to Florida. President Obama established the $20 billion Gulf Coast Claims Facility fund to compensate people affected by the loss. Hoslett Forensics was engaged by the fund to resolve business loss claims filed by some of the largest law firms, resulting in approximately $250,000,000 in payments to well over 1,000 claimants.
